For some reason I like “top 10″ lists… Needless to say that the “Top 10 foods with hidden fat” article by Carine van Rooyen in Health24 immediately caught my eye this morning. Furthermore, being health conscious made it a very interesting read. The article starts of with:

We all know that chocolates, cakes and cookies are loaded with kilojoules. But what about your other favourite foods? Could hidden fats be lurking in them too?

If you’re trying to get your body in shape for the beach, it might be a good idea to take a peek at this list of the top 10 foods with hidden fat – and cut down on them.

According to the article, the top 10 foods with hidden fats are:

  1. Mayonnaise

  2. Nuts

  3. Coffee creamer

  4. Peanut butter

  5. Potato crisps

  6. Cheese

  7. Red meat

  8. Pies and pastries

  9. Deep-fried delicacies

  10. Avocadoes

Welcome to Pathfinder on the blogosphere! This is the debut post to announce our presence and inviting all bloggers out there with a multi-interest personality to be regular guests.

I am by nature very inquisitive and have a passion for research and intellectual inquiry. I just like to ‘know’ about ’stuff’ and have very diverse interests…  such as adventure sports, outdoor activities, business, economics, environmental issues, science, technology, health, fitness, futurist opinions, world news & events, nature conservation, internet, trends, and the way social systems function.

As a result I spend a lot of time on the web exploring and discovering. I believe a day shouldn’t go by without learning about at least one new thing I didn’t know before. My personal journey of growing, exploring and discovering subsequently led to the desire to also share with others. In part this desire finds expression in blogging projects such as Entrepreneurship Evangelist, The Change Agent and Red Pill.

A few days ago it dawned upon me that there must be others like me, and the idea of a more generic blog was born… generic in the sense of news, views, events, actualities, trends and developments that encompass my own multi-interset range. The hope is that like-minded people will find it worthwile in their own journey of discovery.

So, as they say, a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step… well, this is that first step…
